What this does
This WHOIS lookup shows the public registration record of a domain: the registrar, when it was registered and when it expires, its status, name servers, DNSSEC and the abuse contact. For an IP address or AS number it shows the network's owner, range and registry. It uses RDAP, the official modern version of WHOIS, so the details come straight from the registry in charge.
How to use it
- Type a domain such as example.com, an IP address, or an AS number like AS13335.
- Press Look up.
- Check the expiry date and status, or copy the page address to share the result.
FAQ
Why is the owner's name hidden?
Since privacy laws like GDPR, most registries hide the personal details of domain owners. You can usually reach the owner through the registrar, using the abuse contact shown for problems.
What is RDAP?
RDAP is the modern, official replacement for WHOIS. Registries answer in a standard format, so this tool can show the same details for most domain endings and all IP addresses.
Why does it say a domain ending isn't supported?
A few country registries, for example .de and .io, don't offer public RDAP lookups. The tool links to the registry so you can use its own search.
