What this does
This typing speed test measures how fast and how accurately you type. You get a fresh set of common English words each time; the clock starts with your first key and you see your words per minute (WPM) and accuracy as you go. Mistyped words turn red. When time is up you get your final WPM, accuracy, raw speed and a rating, and your best score for each test length is saved on this device.

FAQ
What is a good typing speed?
The average person types about 40 words per minute. 60 WPM or more is fast and suits most office work, and professional typists often reach 80 to 100 WPM or more.
How is WPM calculated?
A word is counted as five characters, including spaces. Only correctly typed words count toward WPM; raw speed counts everything you typed. Accuracy is the share of your keystrokes that were right.
How can I type faster?
Learn to touch type without looking at the keys, keep your fingers on the home row, and focus on accuracy first. Speed follows. A few minutes of practice a day makes a big difference.
