What is a good click speed?
Most people click about 6 to 7 times per second. 8 to 10 CPS is fast, and special techniques like jitter clicking or butterfly clicking can reach 12 to 15 CPS or more.
Does holding the spacebar count?
No. Only separate presses count, so the key repeating while you hold it down is ignored.
How can I click faster?
Use a light, responsive mouse, rest your wrist and click with your fingertip rather than your whole hand. Gamers also practise jitter clicking (tensing the arm to vibrate the finger) and butterfly clicking (alternating two fingers).
